- New business line targets international institutional investors and large family offices
- Investment solutions available through fund structures, separate accounts and club deals
- 50 years of real estate expertise and approximately EUR 3 billion in assets under management across Austria and core CEE markets
UNIQA Real Estate Management GmbH (UNIQA Real Estate) is expanding its business activities and will in the future also offer real estate investment solutions to third-party investors. As part of this strategic expansion, the company is opening its investment and management platform, which has so far been dedicated to the UNIQA Group’s real estate portfolio, to external capital. The target clients are international institutional investors and large family offices, with an initial focus on investors from Germany and Austria.
UNIQA Real Estate will offer a range of investment structures tailored to the requirements of institutional investors. Investors will be able to access the platform through fund vehicles, while separate accounts and club deal structures will also be available depending on the individual investment strategy and mandate requirements.
“By opening our platform to third-party capital, we are making available the real estate expertise we have built up over decades in our core markets of Austria and Central and Eastern Europe. Institutional investors today expect more than access to attractive real estate assets. They are looking for active investment management across the full property life cycle, with a clear focus on protecting and enhancing investor value. This is precisely the expertise we are bringing to our new third-party investment management business. At the same time, we are able to structure investment solutions flexibly around the specific requirements of our partners,” says Thomas Erdmann MRICS, Managing Director of UNIQA Real Estate Management GmbH.
UNIQA Real Estate has been responsible for the UNIQA Group’s real estate activities for 50 years. Its integrated platform covers key parts of the real estate value chain in-house. Through active asset and portfolio management, the company manages properties throughout their entire life cycle. This combination of strategic and operational real estate expertise also forms the foundation of the new third-party investment management business.
The real estate portfolio managed by UNIQA Real Estate comprises more than 200 properties with over one million square metres of lettable space. The portfolio is diversified across the office, retail, hotel and residential sectors. Geographically, it is focused on Austria as well as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The portfolio includes core and core-plus assets ranging from historic Viennese Gründerzeit properties to modern office and hotel buildings.
UNIQA Group is one of the leading insurance groups in its core markets of Austria and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Around 21,000 employees and exclusive sales partners serve over 18 million customers across 14 countries. UNIQA Group’s long-standing presence in the CEE region and its strong local market networks provide the foundation for extensive real estate market and management expertise that will now also be made available to third-party investors.
