On 1 June, René Roider will become Head of Group Data & IT at UNIQA. In this role, he will lead Group IT as a strong, connected community for the Executive Board and business units, and shape the technological development of UNIQA across all countries.
“René knows our business, he knows our IT – and in recent years he has demonstrated how effectively he translates technology into business impact,” emphasises Wolf Gerlach, Executive Board Member for Operations, Data & IT: “We are rolling out AI across the board, modernising our platforms and strengthening our resilience – all in parallel and across 14 countries. With René at the helm of our Group IT, we have the right leadership to successfully shape this transformation together with the business divisions.”
René Roider also emphasises the strategic role of Data & IT in the Group’s further development: “Data, IT and AI are the driving force behind modern insurance today – they help us to be closer to our customers, make decisions faster and empower our colleagues in their work. My aim is for UNIQA to build on these strengths collectively as a Group – with standards that give us momentum and local strength that keeps us close to the people.”
René Roider, 52, has many years of international leadership experience at the intersection of business, technology and data. He has overseen major transformations within complex corporate structures and driven the industrialisation of AI, cloud and analytics platforms from the pilot phase through to measurable business impact. Since 2022, he has been a member of the management board of UNIQA IT Services GmbH (UITS) and has been responsible for, among other things, cyber security, cloud transformation, regulatory technologies and extensive efficiency programmes. Prior to this, he held leading roles at international financial and industrial companies, among others.
René Roider succeeds Christian Gosch, who has had a decisive influence on Group IT in recent years. UNIQA would like to thank Christian Gosch warmly for his great commitment and valuable contribution. Christian is leaving the company at his own request to pursue new professional challenges. The company wishes him all the best for the future.
